¡°Zhangjiajie took our breath away.¡±
During the end of May and early June 2014 my family and I spent 4 days in Zhangjiajie and 1 day in Fenghuang Ancient Town in Hunan Province, China. Zhangjiajes scenery is magnificent. We have lived in China for 18 months and by far this is our favorite location. The rock spire formations are breathtaking. The parks are well maintained and provide incredible views. The cable cars are fun to ride. The areas in ZJJ that were our favorites were Yellwostone Mountain, Golden Whip Stream and Tianmen Mountain.
We hired a local guide, Jeffrey Tang, to show us the sights. He was very professional, responsible, kind and informative. With his assistance we maneuvered our way through the national parks. He showed us to the less crowded areas so we were able to enjoy the scenery without the masses. After a long days of sightseeing Jeffery took us to excellent local restaurants to refuel our bodies. Jeffery was very thoughtful when he purchased a cake to celebrate my sons 10 birthday.
Fenghuang was a 4 hour drive from ZJJ. On the way to Fenghuang we took the country road and saw many local villages and farms. We enjoyed this drive because it gave us an insight on the life of a farmer. In Fenghuang we toured the ancient town along the river. Our favorite time was a boat ride along the river.
We came away from this trip with wonderful memories of the gorgeous China landscape. We will be sharing those memories with our friends and family for a long time.
